Slawek Kukielka, CEO & Co-Founder

Slawek Kukielka, CEO & Co-Founder

Born and bred in Poland, Slawek has called London his home for over a decade. Having spent half of his life working for some of the biggest names in American and European tourism and a couple of enjoyable summers showing groups around London, he still loves taking friends to explore the East End.

Through his previous experiences, Slawek also counts himself lucky to have worked with some of the best guides in the industry, bringing them along on the Urban Saunters' journey.

Likes- Cycling, basketball, documenting the amazing street art he has seen in his travels, decent jazz music, baking sourdough bread, and enjoying good food (Thai, Sicilian and Japanese to name but a few)

Shabby Flanders, Co-Founder

Shabby Flanders, Co-Founder

Hailing from a rock ‘n’ roll background and living in the East End of the city, 2013 saw Shabby make an unexpected move into tourism, working as a London guide (for Slawek, serendipitously).

Since then, this 19th-century-loving urchin has gone on to tour guide in 38 countries across Europe, curate travel products, craft itineraries for an array of fantastic companies in the industry, and head up the London arm of an award-winning food tour operator.

Likes- the history of British & European food, klezmer music, tour guiding folks from all walks of life, Charles Dickens, TS Eliot, dreaming big, long sunny days in Southern Italy, and eating her way around the world.

Gina is a proud Londoner whose aim is to persuade you to fall in love with her hometown. Previously she was a lending officer with the City’s oldest merchant bank and then a school speech & language coordinator but she is happiest in her third career being a professional Blue Badge Guide sharing her passions for culture and history with visitors to this dynamic City.

Likes: exploring cities at home & abroad, visiting exhibitions at museums & art galleries, reading, walking, listening to jazz, and catching up with family & friends over a pub lunch

Tour Guide Guy

Tour Guide Guy

A Man of Kent, Guy has lived in London for over 25 years. He worked for many years for a much-loved department store before chucking it all in to train as a Blue Badge guide - and has never looked back. With a love of history and performance, he loves nothing more than to show off this great city with a group of like-minded travellers.

Likes: travelling the world, acting in my local pantomime, a decent pint, a fine wine, a classic English pudding, Queens Park Rangers FC, following the cricket, catching the latest exhibition, listening to classic rock bands, and researching my family history.

Tour Guide Vivien

Tour Guide Vivien

Vivien is a passionate professional Blue Badge Guide. A life-long love of history has led her to guide whereby she can share her knowledge and enthusiasm with London’s visitors. “It’s my job to make your tour a treasured memory.”

Having previously founded an intellectual rights property company and taken it to a full listing on the London Stock Exchange (and landing a nomination for Business Woman of the Year), Vivien eventually took up guiding as the perfect way to immerse herself in what she loves best; architecture, history, London’s royal heritage, the stories, the pageantry... “Life is too short to be lived in an office.”

“I specialise in small groups and private tours where I can be your London expert and guide during the time we spend together. Ask questions, engage, that’s what I’m here for!”

Likes: All animals but especially dogs, hand-dyed yarn, knitting, dining with friends, walking, museums, theatre, galleries, exhibitions, being outdoors, taking time to smell the roses, robust cheese, reading and researching, learning new stuff, gardening, live classical music – from solo recitals to a big orchestra with a choir, jazz, afternoon tea, having a laugh, walking by the River Thames.

“Can’t wait to meet you and show you what London is all about.”

Tour Guide Francis

Tour Guide Francis

I have lived and worked in London all my life. And spent 30 exciting years as a London Metropolitan Police Officer, in both Uniform and Detective roles.

After retirement from the Police, I trained as a teacher of Adult Education. But the lure of the streets of London was too strong, and I qualified as a London Tour Guide in 2016.

Allow me to take you onto the streets of the city I love, the greatest in the world. Be assured you are in safe and knowledgeable hands.

Tour Guide Richard

Tour Guide Richard

Originally from the Charnwood Forest region of the Midlands, Richard studied Hotel Management in Manchester, England, and also in New York, USA before embarking on a career managing hotels that have taken him across the globe.

Having retired now from the world of hotels, it’s his love of hospitality combined with a passion for history that has become the hallmark of Richard’s truly inspiring guided tours.

London has been Richard’s home now for many years and there is nothing more he likes than to take visitors and locals alike on an exciting journey through what has to be one of the most fascinating cities in the world.  Equally, if exploring further afield appeals then Richard is no stranger to the easily accessible cities and towns of Oxford, Cambridge, Windsor, Bath, and Canterbury.

Tour Guide Ben

Tour Guide Ben

Ben is an experienced London Blue Badge guide, who loves what he does, showing this amazing city to people from all over the world. From the famous venues to the obscure back-streets, there are stories to be told almost everywhere you look.

Working at a senior level in the corporate world for many years developed the confident and easy communication style which is so often commented on by clients. When the opportunity came along to put those skills to use by training as a guide, it was no surprise he jumped at the chance. And has been loving his job ever since.

For Ben, guiding isn’t just a profession, it’s a passion. So when you come on a tour with him you can be confident of a quality experience, one that’s well-informed but also relaxed and hugely enjoyable.

Tour Guide Amber

Tour Guide Amber

Born in Texas, Amber has called London home since 2001. She started guiding on the double-decker buses while earning her Master’s in International Marketing. After the recession hit, she left the world of marketing to pick up her passion for tour guiding. Holding a guiding badge for the City of London, Westminster, Camden, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Lambeth, she loves learning about London. Additionally, she is a volunteer guide at Guildhall Art Gallery, All Hallows by the Tower, and Westminster Abbey’s Education Centre.

Amber knows what it is like to be a tourist in London, as she sees the city through the eyes of a visitor. “I understand what it is like to have a finite amount of time and want to see it all! It’s impossible to do that in London, but with the right guide, you can cram in quite a bit!” Her mission is to bring history to life, and often you can see her dressed in costume while she is guiding. “It’s fun for me, fun for my clients, and somehow makes it a little more real.” During the pandemic, she turned her tours into online history classes for kids.

Likes: hidden history and forgotten people who lived before, costumes and dressing up, cycling, exploring the latest food trends, recreating foods at home, traveling and finding the local foods and hidden spots, art - specifically Impressionists or Street Art
